Bri-Glen Springs, Bri-Glen Springs Road, Wonna, South Australia 5419

Bri-Glen Springs has been around for many years, Gawler and Districts 4WD Club has been going there since before 2010. It is a very similar place to Terrowie but it has more history and old sites to see. Terrowie is literally only 22Kms around the corner.

Bri-Glen is a property just south of Terowie, around 5000 acres in total size. The owner, Brian Sambell, has offered us the use of a 355 acre fenced area. The enclosure joins a large creek (Wonna) and a nature reserve, which is leased by the property owners. We would also have access to drive the many other 4WD tracks on the Bri-Glen property. This is an awesome opportunity to gain access to another large piece of land for the use of four wheel driving.

Self-sufficient camping so bring your own food and water as well as a bunch of camp fire yarns, fun & laughter.

BYO food & beverages of choice.

Campfires are permitted so all bring some wood, to throw on the fire.

All persons staying on the property must be self sufficient with their own port-a-potty.

Willangi Bush Escapes, out of Peterborough.

Note:We are staying at Applia Springs Campground on the Friday night for a quick run to Willangi, next morning, which is only 48Km from Apila Springs Campground. This will get us out on the tracks straight after lunch, for sure.LAST PERSON TO ARRIVE WILL WRITE THE TRIP REPORTHigh clearance 4wds are recommended for the harder tracks but there are plenty of tracks that can be explored in a 4x4 that doesn’t have high clearance however low range is essential. Drivers with all levels of experience will be able to cruise around the tracks or find something harder to challenge themselves. We will arrive in Peterborough around 9:30 - 10am and check in at the office of Willangi Bush Escapes. We will need to fill in all the forms and pay using cash only. We will then get our maps and key and head out to the property to set up camp. Our camp site is accessible by 2wd. Due to the size of our club we have chosen the biggest, flattest campsite to allow camper trailers and caravans access. There is little to no shade at this campsite and there is a dry creek bed near by that the kids can explore.Firewood is supplied HOWEVER due to people abusing this generosity there is a $250 bond for fires. I have spoken with the owners and they will waive this fee is we bring some wood of our own to burn too. All fires must be of comfort and cooking size and are only allowed to burn until 10pm (unless we use our wood). If we have a fire in the morning it MUST be extinguished before we head out on the tracks. We are NOT to collect wood from their property. All fires must be in the designated fire ring. We must pay attention to seasonal fire bans (we will be notified daily). As this is a working sheep property no dogs are allowed on this trip as they have fox baits laid in various locations. All campsites have a clean long drop . Showers are available at the main shed and are $1 for 3 minutes and all campers on the property have access to these.Once we arrive at our campsite we will setup camp and have an early lunch then ease into some of the easier tracks to be back at camp before 3pm as we have arranged a special event with the owner for Saturday afternoon and this will test the drivers. For those that don’t wish to participate I am arranging happy hour on top of the hill to enjoy the show and a drink.Sunday we will continue to explore the tracks including the 2 we have made there. These may have some challenging parts to them and may test your nerves. We will have a group BBQ and some festivities on Sunday night. We will take a short track or 2 on Monday morning before we pack camp up and head home just after lunch.TO CONFIRM NUMBERS I REQUEST THE TRACK FEE AS A DEPOSIT BY THE END OF THE SEPTEMBER MEETING.
